Marushka designers: cat people?

Marushka prints feature great diversity - rocking horses, dancing penguins, clowns. Even so, it's safe to say that Marushka prints are strong in certain genres - there are many aquatic and beach themes (to help furnish your vacation home) and also a lot of nature-inspired views of flowers and trees.

Another interesting pattern of note is the relative balance of cat Marushkas to dog Marushkas. I haven't seen a dog Marushka, but certainly there are a number of cats:

Are cats better subjects for silkscreens or were the designers cat people?

Maybe cats are more discriminating art consumers.
